CC Third Tuesday at The Tricycle with Jim Broadbent – October 15th

We’ve got a great Creative Cricklewood Third Tuesday to offer you this month! We would like to take you with us to the Tricycle, one of our small local Cinemas to watch Le Weekend with renowned actor Jim Broadbent, on Tuesday October 15th.

Le Weekend focuses on nearly elderly couple Meg and Nick, who go for a mini-break in Paris in an attempt to recapture the happiness of their honeymoon there. The film will be followed by a Q&A with Jim Broadbent.

Please book your tickets (£15.00) at the Tricycle box office020 7328 1000 and do mention Creative Cricklewood when booking.

We will meet you at the Corner of Cricklewood Broadway and Depot Approach at 7.15pm.  Look out for the Creative Cricklewood lamp post tied with colourful ribbons outside the Beacon Bingo, or meet us later at the ticket desk at the Tricycle – 269 Kilburn High Road, London NW6 7JR (map below).

The film starts at 8pm.

We hope you can come and join us. It would be great to see you!

We received the following message from the Tricycle.

Dear booker,

We’re sorry to announce that due to unforeseen circumstances, Jim Broadbent and Roger Michell will no longer be appearing at our Q&A screening of *Le Week-End* on Tuesday 15 October.

The Q&A will still be going ahead with leading actress Lindsay Duncan and writer Hanif Kureishi, hosted by film critic Baz Bamigboye.

Lindsay is a three time BAFTA nominee who has recently starred in *About Time* and *Alice in Wonderland*.

Hanif is an Oscar and BAFTA nominee, and New York Film Critics’ Circle Award winning playwright, screenwriter and novelist. His writing credits include *Venus* starring Peter O’Toole, *The Mother* starring Daniel Craig, novel and TV series *The Buddha Of Suburbia *(the novel and the mini-tv series) and *My Beautiful Laundrette*.

We hope you will still join us for what we’re sure will be a hugely enjoyable and insightful evening. Our Q&A screenings are charity events and funds raised from the evening will support our Artistic and Creative Learning programmes.

We do understand, however, that in light of the changes to the line-up, you may want a refund. If this is the case, please email with the subject line ‘Le Week-End Refund’, your name and booking details. You will then receive an email within 48 hours confirming your card has been reimbursed.

We would hugely appreciate it if you can contact us as soon as possible if you no longer wish to attend but hope you will choose to come along to this special evening.

With best wishes,

The Tricycle Box Office

Thursday 4 July at the Windmill – 57 Cricklewood Broadway.

We present a brand new exhibition of paintings by graffiti artist BAMBOOKIDD.
with music and poetry as part of our regular Open Mic event.
From 7.30pm. Performances start at 8.00pm.

The exhibition will continue throughout July.
Opening hours: Mon – Fri from 4pm, Sat – Sun from 1pm

BAMBOOKIDD has been sketching and doodling since he could hold a pen.
Influenced by the likes of D*Face, The London Police, Jamie Hewlett,
The Simpsons, comic books, cartoons and growing up with skater/hip-hop
culture, he eventually began to develop and work on a character of his own.
The result is BAMBOOKIDD – a blank canvas that appears in art
reflecting the influences and activity which emerge from his mind.
Past projects have included exhibitions, live drawings, in-store
designs for small boutiques and record shops, as well as comic books,
flyers and customizations.

This week will be our 20th open mic event at The Windmill. We would like to thank everybody – performers, artists, and audience alike, who have supported it so far.

Creative Cricklewood Meetup and Mingle – Monday 20th May -7.30pm

Creative Cricklewood Meetup and Mingle

Please come and join us for a general gathering of Creative Cricklewood folk this Monday 20th May at 7.30pm on the Mezzanine level of the modern extension to the Crown Hotel, for an informal chance to meet, chat, discuss ideas, projects and creative plans for Creative Cricklewood’s future.

Creative Cricklewood (CC) was formed in the summer of 2011, when a motley group of local creatives came together at Meral’s café in Cricklewood. The fledgling group has grown quickly and organically and has managed to establish itself as one of the most diverse arts groups in North West London.

Led by a small volunteer team, Creative Cricklewood now runs three popular regular social events – The Open Mic and Art Show at The Windmill, Creative Cricklewood Third Tuesday (CCTT) and ‘Shut up and Write’. Our members are frequently involved in exhibitions and arts events across London and the UK, and the group has been heavily involved in The Cricklewood Improvement Programme, ‘The Big Draw’ and the Summer and Winter Festivals held in Cricklewood in 2012.

There are over 260 members on Facebook. We know many of you, but there are a lot of you out there that we don’t know and we would especially like you to come and introduce yourself and get involved.

So, please put the 20th May, 7.30pm in your diary. We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces and lots of new ones too!
