Solo Exhibition- Henryk Terpilowski

This week sees the opening of a solo exhibition by our very own Henryk Terpilowski at the BAR Gallery, Willesden 17th – 27th Sept

Henryk has been using the skills, processes and compositional ideas he has learnt from his background as a decorative artist to develop a highly individual expressionistic style of painting. Some of the results are presented in this show.

All invited to the Private View Friday 26th Sept 6 – 9pm when further musical entertainment will be provided at the ‘We Love the Blues’ event at A Pop-up Wonderland – next door

OPEN MIC & ART SHOW!

Thursday 4 July at the Windmill – 57 Cricklewood Broadway.

We present a brand new exhibition of paintings by graffiti artist BAMBOOKIDD.
with music and poetry as part of our regular Open Mic event.
From 7.30pm. Performances start at 8.00pm.

The exhibition will continue throughout July.
Opening hours: Mon – Fri from 4pm, Sat – Sun from 1pm

BAMBOOKIDD has been sketching and doodling since he could hold a pen.
Influenced by the likes of D*Face, The London Police, Jamie Hewlett,
The Simpsons, comic books, cartoons and growing up with skater/hip-hop
culture, he eventually began to develop and work on a character of his own.
The result is BAMBOOKIDD – a blank canvas that appears in art
reflecting the influences and activity which emerge from his mind.
Past projects have included exhibitions, live drawings, in-store
designs for small boutiques and record shops, as well as comic books,
flyers and customizations.

Painting by Ivorene Davies

IVORENE DAVIES was born in Cricklewood, and has lived here in the same family home most of her life.  After attending Mora Road school, Ivorene studied art at Willesden School of Art – which closed in 1959. Ivorene continues to paint and draw; she has a superb sense of colour, which she incorporates into most of her work.

This Sunday 28th October Creative Cricklewood have teamed up with the Brent Mosque on Chichele Road to bring you the Big Draw and storytelling.  The event will feature storytellers:

David Bash: http://www.successstory.org.uk/

Sarah Rundle: http://www.sarahrundle.co.uk/

Seema Anand will be telling a longer story at 1.30.
This story is from the Sunder Bans forest that grows between India and Bangladesh at 1.30.  It is situated on the mouth of the Ganges so there is a lot of flooding in the area which creates and periodically washes away dozens of little tiny islands so the area is remapped every 3 years.  3 of the world’s most dangerous animals live here – tigers, snakes and crocodiless.  The trees that grow there are stumpy and very wide.  The forest is protected by Bon Bibi who was sent by Allah to look after the people there and her best friend is the king of the tigers and he is a Hindu Brahmin so people going into this forest pray to both these protectors together – it is the only place in the world where the prayers are offered to both Muslim and Hindu deities together.
