Save the Date: AGM Dec 7th 2015

Lots of changes for CC in the coming year, including finally having a dedicated space for our activities becoming available through the new Cricklewood Community Library.

We’re putting in place exciting plans for a variety of CC events and projects, online and off, to celebrate and connect the writers and artists of Cricklewood.

If you’d like to be involved, we’re expanding our committee (rather an official word for our ad hoc group of artists, writers and appreciators).

And having a meeting on Dec 7th at The Mezzanine at The Crown to make/discuss our plans for 2016.

Details to follow, for now save the date.

Open Mic Ceasing As The Windmill Bar Closes

We’re sorry to announce that the Windmill pub is closing and so the longstanding Creative Cricklewood Open Mic is ceasing for the foreseeable future.

We would like to thank all who helped to make this such a vibrant get-together, and celebration of local creativity, each fortnight (at one time, each week) for our community. Most especially, of course, Mr Dave Parratt, “Panama Dave” who so ably ran the sound deck, and the night.

In the almost three years of running, Dave missed only one of more than 70 events. He will continue to play his uniquely wonderful instrumental guitar at a variety of venues, including a new venture with Victor, who has managed The Windmill in recent months. So keep an eye on his facebook page.

Our special thanks too to Henryk Terpilowski, most particularly for his tireless work on the art show, and Pat Bonner (Zimmy van Zandt) for all round assistance — and all who made it such a success for so long.

This underlines the importance of dedicated space for CC activities and we welcome the coming of the new library in 2016.

In the meantime, we are investigating an alternative venue for our monthly art show.
